Who does not know a motorcycle? Engined vehicles which usually have a two-wheeled has become a favorite in the modern era like today. Nearly 90% of people have a motorcycle. Besides the "reasonable" price, its fuel using is relatively low so made its operational cost is low too.

Naturally, most motorcycles are built for speed, but some of them are considerably faster than others. For all of you "need for speed" lovers out there, we would like to present you with a list we have compiled of the world’s ten fastest production motorcycles. The bikes in our countdown were ranked according to their top speed, which is displayed both in miles per hour (mph) and kilometers per hour (kph). The entire motorcycles were not only fast but also has fairly "nice" design. Here are the top 10 fastest production motorcycle in the world,,

10. Ducati 1098S: 169 mph (272 kph)
This superbike is innovation results from Ducati, one of Italian leading motorcycle manufacturers. There are three different versions, the first one called 1098, 1098S, and 1098R. Then, two other models is replaced by Ducati 1198.

The Ducati 1098S uses Desmodromic Cylinder L-twin liquid cooled engine, with 4 valves per cylinder. The engine is capable of producing power of 119.3 kW (160.0 hp) @ 9,750 rpm which used to drive its rear wheels via a chain and combined with 6-speed transmission system. Not surprisingly, the highest speed that can be reached by this motorcycle is 169 mph (272 kph).

9. Confederate X132 Hellcat Combat: 172 mph (277 kph)
This motorcycle is the production of a Confederate motorcycle manufacturer that produced in  limited numbers. The motorcycle is equipped with a V-Twin engine with a capacity of 2,163 cc that can give a power of 132 hp and torque of 203 Nm (150 lb/ft).

So that's when the motorcycle driven by James Hoegh at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, the U.S. can break the record speed of 172.2 mph (277 kph) which is equivalent to 200 mph (321 kph) on the tarmac for big block American V-twin engine motorcycles.

8. BMW K 1200 S: 174 mph (280 kph)

7. Kawasaki Ninja ZX-11/ZZ-R1100: 176 mph (283 kph)
This is a stylish motorcycle that manufactured by Kawasaki, one of Japanese motorcycle manufacturers. This bike uses 4-stroke, 4-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled engine, which has a capacity of 1,052 cc.

The power generated by Kawasaki Ninja is 108 kW (147 PS) @ 10,500 rpm which is channeled through the chain to drive the rear wheels after combined with a 6 speed transmission system. With this bike you can reach a top speed of 176 mph (283 kph).

This bike was created by famous motorcycle designer Massimo Tamburini at CRC (Cagiva Research Center) after his work on the Ducati 916 and handmade produced by MV. Augusta.
