Fossils of dinosaur tail was discovered in Mexico

Scientists was found fossils of a dinosaur tailbone tissue which has an estimated age of 72 million years. Paleontology team from the National Anthropology and History Institute of Mexico found the fossils in the desert of northern Mexico.

The scientists team believe the fossils belong to Hadrosaurs, the duck-billed dinosaurs. Fossils of dinosaur tail were found near General Cepeda was estimated measuring half the length of the dinosaur body.

Five meter long of fossilized dinosaur tail was found in a quite good condition and it was the first fossil found in Mexico. Although stored for 72 million years in the ground, 50 pieces of  vertebrate tail bone is still connected.

For three weeks, researchers have been wipe the smooth sand and gravel that covered the tail so as not to ruin it. The fossilized tail series will then be split into sections to be transferred to a laboratory to be cleaned and studied further before it put back together.

This fossil was found by a team of scientists consisting of archaeologists and students of the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico (Institute Nacional de Antropologia e Historia / INAH) and students from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. The research team was led by director of INAH, Francisco Aguilar.

The team found 50 complete tail bone after digging for 20 days against sedimentary rocks that cover this fossil. Around the fossilized tail, also found fossils of the dinosaur hip. "A newly discovered of the dinosaur's tail fossils include rare," said Aguilar.

According to Aguilar, the latest invention that can contribute further knowledge about the hadrosaur family and research on diseases that attack the dinosaur bones, which are also present in humans.

Scientists know, dinosaurs can also be affected by the tumor and arthritis. Dinosaur fossils have been found in the State of Coahuila and a number of other desert areas in northern Mexico. "We have a rich history of paleontology," said Aguilar.

"The main significance of this discovery is the location," said Paul Barrett of the Natural History Museum in London, England, as quoted from Newscientist on Thursday, July 25, 2013. "Relatively little is known about the dinosaurs of Mexico. This is the most spectacular of a series of recent findings to help fill in a relatively empty area on the map dinosaurs." This is not a surprise the first time found a hadrosaur fossil sequence intact. In 2002, found a complete hadrosaur fossils with stomach contents. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | NEWSCIENTIST | DAILYMAIL | ROSALINA | KORAN TEMPO 4302]
